Heavy rain lashes Lahore, roads inundated

LAHORE – A spell of heavy rain lashed the Punjab capital on Tuesday night, turning the weather pleasant but leaving low-lying areas inundated with rainwater.

Several parts of the metropolis including the Airport, Cantonment, Askari 10 and Davis Road localities received a heavy downpour. Gulberg, Shadmaan, Canal Road also witnessed heavy rain.

Soon after the rain, the temperature dropped significantly and maximum temperature was 31 C while the minimum 24 C. MET office forecast that the city may witness more rains during the next 24 hours.

The MET office also forecast that monsoon activity was likely to increase over the country. MET office forecast partly cloudy weather with chances of thunderstorms and rains on Wednesday.
