ISLAMABAD – On the Supreme Court’s orders, 1471 transgenders have been issued national identity cards so far.
According to the social welfare department spokesman, further 530 transgenders have been registered and their process of issuance of ID cards is underway.
He said that under the directives of the Chief Secretary, ID cards are being issued to transgenders under one window operation through special centers in every district.
