LONDON – Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, was placed on life support again on Tuesday as her health began deteriorating again.
Kulsoom had developed a lung problem again and doctors have placed her back on a ventilator, according to sources close to the Harley Street Clinic.
The former premier’s wife, who has been undergoing cancer treatment at the clinic in London, was taken off the ventilator last month after her condition improved a bit.
The Sharif family has confirmed that Begum Kulsoom is critical, seeking the prayers of countrymen.
The ex-prime minister’s wife was admitted to the hospital on June 14 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Begum Kulsoom was diagnosed with lymphoma (throat) cancer in August 2017 following which she was taken to London.
