Biscuit trophy garners spotlight as Pakistan, Australia compete for T20 series

DUBAI – Australia and Pakistan are competing in the T20 cricket series for a trophy that looks like a giant cheese cracker, stirring waves of laughter on the social media.

The ‘delicious’ trophy was displayed by the two respective captains Sarfraz Ahmed and Aaron Finch before the teams clash on Wednesday, prompting the International Cricket Council to dish in on the matter.

“Giving taking the biscuit a whole new meaning,” stated ICC on its verified account.

ICC fired another tweet comparing the biscuit trophy with another one displayed by Indian captain Virat Kohli and Sarfraz Ahmed.

The biscuit shaped trophy is owing to the fact that a renowned cookie manufacturer has sponsored it, however, the biscuit trophy is not the only ‘bizarre’ prize to be clinched by the winner.

One of the trophies presented earlier also had a giant lid of a bottle as it was sponsored by a beverage manufacturer.

Pakistan and Australia will clash for three T20 contests in Dubai and the Green Shirts will have to win at least one match of the series to retain their first position in ICC rankings.
