DHQ Hospital Hafizabad horrifying treatment of pregnant woman that could have cost her life

HAFIZABAD: A pregnant woman had a harrowing experience at hospital yesterday when she was reportedly denied treatment by staff at the District Headquarter Hospital Kasur on Monday.

According to reports, the women reached the DHQ in critical condition but the lady doctor on duty allegedly referred her to Lahore without any formal check up. When the patient refused to comply, the doctor had security personnel escort the woman out of hospital.

The woman ended up outside the gate of the hospital fighting for life. She was finally admitted back into the hospital when it was clear how far her condition had deteriorated.

However, the Medical Superintendent at the hospital Doctor Hamid Rafiq refuted the news and said the expecting woman had reached hospital at night and was referred to Lahore after checkup.

He went on to clarify that no specialized lady doctor was designated during the night shift and so the patient had to be referred to Lahore. He added that the pregnant woman was now undergoing treatment at DHQ Kasur.
