KARAK – An oil tanker, carrying thousands of litres of oil, overturned on Indus Highway near Sapina Bandha area of Karak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Tuesday.
It is being reported that thousands of litres of oil was spilled from the tanker and is now flowing on the road.
Karak is 123 km from Peshawar on the main Indus Highway between Peshawar and Karachi.
Police have reached the spot and making announcements advising the people to stay away from the fuel, while the highway has been closed for traffic in order to avoid any untoward incident.
These strict measures are being taken following a major incident which happened a day before Eidul Fitr.
On June 25, a deadly incident occurred when an overturned oil tanker exploded in a huge fireball in which over 200 people have lost their lives so far who reached the spot to collect spilled oil. Large numbers of injured are still in hospitals in critical condition.
