LAHORE – A court has directed the social media giant Facebook to share the registration details of two accounts being used for defaming former female provincial minister Seemal Raja, Dawn News reported.
The judicial magistrate at district courts was informed that investigation agency, FIA, had completed its probe on a complaint lodged by the former MPA.
The investigation officer of FIA said that objectionable content and remarks against Seemal Raja and her family were uploaded on Facebook through two accounts titled “Hamid Khan MSF” and “Ashiq Hussain”.
The officer asked the court to order the authorities concerned in Facebook in California, US, to provide the required data for tracing the handlers of these accounts.
Approving his plea, Magistrate Umar Farooq Warraich ordered Facebook’s security department to furnish the details of the profiles.
