Four Lesco XENs held for misappropriation of Rs 140 million

LAHORE – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) detected massive irregularities made by four executive engineers of Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) causing loss of Rs 140 million to national kitty.

An investigation report revealed that the corrupt Lesco officials received huge kickbacks from private companies in guise of providing them electricity illegally and sending deflated electricity bills.

It further said that XEN Aziz-ur-Rehman brought a loss of Rs 58.3 million, Xen Naeem Rs 25.5 million, Xen Shafqat Mehmood Rs 40.8 million and Xen Ahmad Shahzad Rs 21.8 million to national kitty by not declaring 17,398,000 units.

On 29 January 2017, NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arrested four officials of Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) allegedly involved in the embezzlement of Rs202 million against fake pass book and fictitious transactions.
