SHIKARPUR – At least two policemen were killed on Sunday in an ongoing encounter against dacoits in Shikarpur.
According to media reports, the martyred police officers included, Station House Officer (SHO) Ghulam Murtaza Mirani of Ghulam Shah police station and Assistant Sub Inspector Zulfikar Panhor, while at least three cops were wounded in the ongoing encounter in Shikarpur’s Shah Belo area.
Meanwhile, heavy contingent of police has cordoned off the area, where armoured vehicles and 200 police officials were taking part in the police operation after the casualties.
The police have launched house to house search operation to find the dacoits, while their hiding places in the area have been razed to the ground.
