Who Will Be The Next Captain Of Pakistan Cricket Team After Babar Azams Resignation

LAHORE – Pakistan’s star player Babar Azam announced to step down as captain of national cricket team, and now Mohammad Rizwan is poised to lead Green Shirts in white ball cricket.

Babar, who is struggling with his form, announced his resignation from the captaincy, paving the way for wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan to become a leading candidate for the role.

Sources familiar with the development said Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials are happy with Rizwan’s appointment as captain. Several former cricketers have also voiced their support for Rizwan, advocating for him to take on this critical leadership position.

With the upcoming tour of Australia, Rizwan is expected to be named captain of Pakistan Cricket team. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has transferred all authority regarding the captaincy to the selection committee, which will make the final decision.

Discussions among the PCB Chairman, white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten, and other selection committee members are reportedly ongoing, with a decision anticipated soon.

As Pakistan cricket undergoes this leadership transition, all eyes will be on Mohammad Rizwan and the selection committee’s forthcoming decision.
