ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has asked television channels to stop running excessive advertisements and indecent content in its latest advice.
According to details all TV channels have been informed to strictly follow the authority’s rules which permit up to 12 minutes for advertisements per every hour of transmission.
PEMRA also raised its serious concerns on excessive religious consumerism and commercial programs aired during the Holy month of Ramadan.
The circular which has been issued on directives of special standing committee of parliament on information, broadcasting and national heritage further said that all TV channels should also broadcast national anthem before starting their transmissions daily.
Meanwhile media houses are also advised to develop healthy content for children.
