THE STATE OF RAPE: Indian army colonel booked for 'raping' mentally challenged girl

Colonel Vinod Sahani has been booked for allegedly raping the 21-year-old mentally challenged woman on April 30, who stayed in his neighbourhood, Devlali Camp police station assistant sub-inspector Atul Zende said.
According to complaint filed by the girl's family, the senior army officer lured the girl to his house and later raped her, the officer said, adding, the victim's parents lodged the complaint yesterday.
An FIR has been registered against the officer but he has not been arrested yet.
The accused and the victim were sent to Nashik civil hospital for medical examination and further investigations were underway, police added.
