ISLAMABAD – Minster for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said after the successful launch of third and fourth generation technology, Pakistan is ready to embrace the 5G platform.
He stated this while chairing a meeting Joint Stakeholder Meeting on Digital Pakistan in Islamabad, adding that the test of the 5G service will be conducted soon.
In collaboration with private sector, the government is focusing on achieving set goals in the human resources development and technology sectors following vision 2025, the minister said.
It is due to the fast-speed internet services that Pakistan has clinched the fourth position in as a freelance country in the world, he added.
The Planning minister highlighted that the government was setting up research centres for artificial intelligence, cyber security, big data, cloud computing and robots, adding that funds have been sanctioned for them.
“It is an age of the fourth industrial revolution where amplified technological bias is in the processes of development”.
Minister Iqbal stated that government fully realised that empowering the country digitally was essential to make it stronger in future.
