MUMBAI (Web Desk) Deepika Padukone has become the highest paid actress ever in Bollywood after she charged Rs 12 crore for her upcoming movie.
According to India media, Deepika has been offered Rs 12 crore for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next period drama Padmavati. She got Rs 1 crore for Ram-Leela, for Bajirao Mastani which came two years later Rs 7 crore and this time its Rs 12.62 crore for her upcoming movie.
The amount makes her the first female actress to break the Rs10 crore mark. In an industry where female actresses have often complained of not being paid as much as their male colleagues, Deepika has become a beacon of hope.
The actress in her first Hollywood debut is starring next to Vin Diesel in XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.
In 2015 after Tanu Wed Manu Returns Kangana Ranaut said she received over Rs 11 crore for her movie, but the claim could not be verified.
