Pakistan Army Called In Islamabad For Sco Moot

ISLAMABAD – The federal government on Friday deployed the army in the federal capital for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

According to the notification, the army will take over security responsibilities during the SCO summit under Article 245 and will remain deployed in Islamabad until October 17.

The notification states that the army’s deployment will be from October 5 to October 17.

The army will be responsible for Islamabad’s security, with support from the police and other agencies.

The SCO summit will be held in Islamabad on October 15 and 16, with heads of state and representatives from several countries expected to attend.

Earlier, Indian Ministry of External Affairs confirmed that Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar would visit Pakistan to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting scheduled in Islamabad on Oct 15-16.

According to the spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, India will participate in the SCO meeting in Pakistan.
