Woman brutally tortures mother to grab property in Lahore

LAHORE – A woman in Nishtar Colony of Lahore has been accused of brutally torturing her mother to vacate the house she was residing in.

Hina, along with her husband Amir Gujjar, entered the house of her mother Fauzia, in Kaha Nau area where the couple subjected the old woman with severe torture in order to make her vacant the house.

The poor old lady approached the police but could not get register an FIR against the accused. Later the viral CCTV footage of the incident and Fauzia’s recorded video narrating the incident compelled the police to register the case against the accused.

In the video message, Fauzia said that her daughter Hina along with her husband Amir Gujjar and land mafia inalienably threatened and abused her for the five canals and 12 marla property left by her husband.

The police have so far not arrested the accused.

Soon as the incident became headlines, Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi took notice of alleged torture and directed Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) to submit a report and take action against the accused persons after conducting impartial investigation into the matter.

In a statement, Afridi said it was top priority of the government to protect rights of weak and poor segments of society. The government would ensure their complete protection at all levels, he added.
