DUBAI – A court in United Arab Emirates has charged three brothers with aggravated assault leading to a permanent injury after they allegedly beat up a Pakistani driver for ‘intruding’ into their villa in Al Qusais earlier this year.
The Duabi’s Court of First Instance heard how the three Emirati brothers, aged 33, 25, and 33, severely thrashed the 20-year-old from Pakistan after they got surprised by him in their house, causing the victim to lose sight in one eye and leaving him with deep cuts in his head.
The incident took place on August 5 and a case was registered at Al Qusais police station, the Khaleej Times reported.

The Pakistani driver, who worked for a telecom provider, said that he was then wearing his work uniform with the company’s logo when the trio assaulted him.
On the day of incident, the man added, he transported technicians to the villa where the three accused lived.
“I dropped them and waited for them in the car. I wanted to go for prayers but they were late. I tried then to call a technician to tell them that I would be away for a short time but I found I had no mobile credit.
“I went to the house and walked inside the backyard. I did not see that there was anything wrong in that as my colleagues were working inside and the door was open.
“The moment I stepped in and before I could shout out to my workmates, I was surprised by one of the brothers charging at me, grabbing my hand and slapping me several times. He did not ask me what I was doing there or even give me a chance to speak up,” he told the newspaper.
The victim told the prosecutor one of the brothers pulled him inside the house where he was joined by his two brothers in kicking and punching the victim. “I was then hit with a solid object in the head. I passed out and woke up one week later at the hospital,” the victim said.
The defendants admitted to the assault charge during the public prosecution investigation.
The court will resume hearing on December 23.
