KARACHI – Around 8.1 million sacrificial animals were purchased for Rs26.5 billion by Pakistanis this Eidul Azha, claimed Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) on Tuesday.
According to the association, around 300,000 cows, 400,000 goats, 1 million sheep and 100,000 camels were sacrificed across the country.
The revenue will face a dip as 35 percent of total hides are expected to be damaged due to heat and improper preservation process.
