Pakistani actor Moammar Rana joins PPP

LAHORE – Film and television actor Moammar Rana has entered politics as he announced to join the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Sunday.

Rana, who has been acting in Lollywood for some 23 years, called on PPP co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Lahore.

The 44-year-old, who is also making his debut as film director for the film Sikandar, also appeared in two Bollywood movies.

His father, Shafqat Rana played Test cricket for Pakistan and later served as national selector twice, while his uncle Azmat Rana (died in 2015) played one Test. Shakoor Rana, another uncle of the actor, was a well-known umpire.
