PESHAWAR – Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak on Monday announced a reward of Rs20 million for Peshawar Zalmi for their victory over Quetta Gladiators in the final of the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) second edition in Lahore on Sunday.
A number of tweets, posted on the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) Twitter page said that the provincial minister, who was already supporting the team representing the K-P capital in the T20 league, congratulated Peshawar Zalmi’s owner Javed Afridi on the phone for being able to bring the PSL trophy to the province.
Moreover, the K-P Chief Minister also invited the management and players of Peshawar Zalmi to a grand reception in Peshawar and lauded the players’ performance as a team.
In one of those tweets, Pervez Khattak also announced a cash reward of Rs20 million for the winning team of the PSL.
Peshawar Zalmi on Sunday won the PSL against Quetta Gladiators at the famous Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore amid tight security.
Peshawar were asked to bat first by Quetta and managed 148-6 in their 20 overs. Quetta, in their chase, were never able to get going and were dismissed for a mere 90 in 16.3 overs.-Online
