ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan will today (Thursday) attend the session of National Assembly and present his party’s stance on Panama Papers issue.
According a statement, a meeting PTI’s parliamentary party was held in Islamabad, where all members unanimously decided to take up the matters related offshore companies in today’s session of the National Assembly.
Addressing party members, Imran Khan said that only reason people open offshore accounts through Panama is to either hide wealth, especially ill-gotten wealth, or to evade tax or both. The Panama Papers leak has confirmed PTI’s stance, he added.
Meanwhile, keeping in view of possible protest by opposition members, the ruling party PML-N has also advised all of its MNAs to ensure their presence in today’s, so that they can strongly respond to opposition’s allegations.
It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that the National Assembly is due to meet at 5:00pm today.
