SIALKOT – Neighboring countries, especially India and Afghanistan are required to make reciprocal efforts in order to ensure durable peace in the region and build good relations, stated Minister for Foreign Affairs Khawaja Muhammad Asif while talking to media on Sunday, adding that Pakistan wanted to have amicable neighbourly relations.
He also accused India of sponsoring terrorism at Pak-Afghan border to create unrest in Pakistan.
Praising national armed forces, Asif said that Pakistan Army has played a significant role to weed out terrorism from the country.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif called for honouring Indus Water Treaty to ensure regional peace as conspiracies against it will pose danger to the stability.
Relations with Afghanistan
Pakistan also wanted to maintain friendly relations with Afghanistan but it can only by realised with reciprocal efforts by the neighbouring country.
However, he warned that any misadventure would eventually disturb the regional peace essential for development.
Pakistan’s overtures should not be taken as weakness as it is fully capable to defend its boundaries against any aggression.
