5.9 magnitude earthquake hits again Pakistan, Afghanistan

LAHORE (Staff Report) – A powerful earthquake jolted different parts of Pakistan and Afghanistan on Friday noon.

The tremors were felt in Islamabad, Kabul, Faizpur, Kandahar, Peshawar, Shangla, Lahore, Muzafarabad and other surrounding areas of two countries. The quake was also reported in areas of India and United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According US Geological Survey, the magnitude of earthquake was known to be 5.0 at Richter scale, according to meteorological department. The epicentre of earthquake was 32km off Jamm area and 219km deep near Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.

Meanwhile Pakistani meteorological department said that magnitude of earthquake was 5.9 at Rickter Scale.

There are no reports of any losses to lives or property in any incident linked with the earthquake.
