TAIPEI – US tech giant Apple has reportedly to launch iPhone with a triple-lens rear camera setup.
According to a research note from Yuanta Securities analyst Jeff Pu, the California based company is likely to launch at least one new iPhone with the triple-camera setup in the second half of next year.
Another report by Chinese publication suggested that the camera system will have 6P lens design with up to 5x zoom and at least one of the lenses was said to have 12 MP resolutions.
The addition of a third lens would likely enable 3x optical zoom on an iPhone for the first time, enabling users to magnify the image in the viewfinder by up to 3x without a blurry reduction in quality like digital zoom.
Previously, Chinese smartphone manufacturer had introduced the three camera setup on its flagship P20 Pro.
Such a move is clearly not one to be ignored by the competition, and apparently, even Apple was taking notes.
