Asia s biggest IT conference, RISE, concludes in Hong Kong

VICTORIA CITY (Web Desk) – RISE, the biggest IT conference in Asia, has concluded in Hong Kong after a successful exhibition of 435 incredible startups in front of 8,144 attendees from over 88 countries.

The three-day summit was organized at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center, from where the event was live-tweeted, earning over 1.2 million impressions around the world.

At the event, as many as 400 investors from some of the world’s leading funding firms also participated while 720 meetings were also held between startup teams and investors including Dave McClure, DST Global’s John Lindfors and serial Forbes Midas Lister Jenny Lee.

Some 400 meetings were held between startups and high-level attendees of the conference, such as speakers and partners, including Uber’s Director of Design Shalin Amin, HTC’s Chief Content Officer Phil Chen and Kabam Founder Holly Liu.

Out of the total 435 startups exhibited at the tech summit as many as 350 were early-stage ALPHA startups, 50 later-stage BETA and 35 growth-stage START startups. Among these DigiByte Holdings, Know Your Customer and FengVest were most appreciated by the investors present at the event.

There were 220 speakers presenting their ideas at the RISE forum which was further divided into five stages – Center, Enterprise, Machine, Builders and Startup University.

Overall, two rides were conducted on the Startup Ferry, which took startups around the historic Victoria Harbour for some maritime networking, while 10 Teslas with 10 investors from 500 Startups such as Big Bloom Ventures, Gobi Ventures, AppWorks also took off with RISE startups on board for a series of 30-minute pitch-and-drives.

It may also be noted that Razer Founder Min-Liang Tan’s Center Stage talk was the most-viewed talk on the RISE live-stream with over 79,575 views, while the event producers are estimated to have walked about two marathons over the three-day-long summit.
