MULTAN – England started batting on Day 3 of the maiden Test against Pakistan at Multan Cricket Stadium, and faced an early setback as Zak Crawley was dismissed shortly after play.

The visitors while chasing Pakistan’s formidable total of 556, started the day at 96-1, hoping to establish a strong partnership.

Zak Crawley fell to star pacer Shaheen Afridi, who caught him off a legside shot, leaving England with a challenging task ahead. English captain Ollie Pope gone for a duck. Joe Root (49*) and Ben Duckett (34*) are at the crease, with the score at 162-2, trailing by 394 runs.

Skipper Ollie Pope is leading English side in this Test after Ben Stokes was ruled out due to a hamstring injury. Earlier in the match, Naseem Shah struck early, dismissing Pope in his first over on Day 2.

The country started Day 3 at 328/4, and their innings was bolstered by strong performances from Salman Ali Agha, who remains unbeaten on 100, and Saud Shakeel, who contributed 82 runs.
