In a significant move to enhance tourism, the Sultanate of Oman has announced a new, relaxed visa policy, offering a 10-day free visa to travelers.

According to Arab media reports, the Omani government has made substantial amendments to its residency and visa regulations, a step aimed at opening its borders to more international tourists. This development was revealed by the Inspector General of Police and Customs, Lieutenant General Hassan bin Mohsen Al-Shuraiqi, during a media briefing.

Lieutenant General Al-Shuraiqi emphasized that the 10-day free visa initiative is part of Oman’s broader efforts to welcome tourists in greater numbers. The visa will be available to passengers and crew members of cruise ships and will be issued at the request of the tourist ship agent.

He further noted that the registration for this free tourist visa must be completed within 30 days of arrival. The amendments to the executive regulations of the residency law for foreigners were specifically designed to promote Oman’s tourism industry.

This initiative is expected to bolster Oman’s reputation as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the Arab world, known for its rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes.
