CHERAT – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday paid his first visit to the headquarters of Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) at Cherat.
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa also accompanied the prime minister to the SSG headquarters in Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
PM Abbasi laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada monument before receiving a briefing about SSG organisation, capabilities, and performance.

After witnessing live fire drills and operational capabilities, Mr Abbasi also fired few of the weapons used by the SSG commandos.
Addressing the troops, the PM appreciated the performance of the elite commandos and their contributions in the ongoing effort against terrorism. He paid rich tribute to the martyrs whose sacrifices have returned peace to Pakistan.
Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir, Commander Peshawar Corps, and other senior Army officers were also present on the occasion.
