Celebrating 70 years of independence, Pakistani artists have released the music video for the song Dil Say Pakistan. This one of a kind music video features multiple celebrities as never before in a Pakistani national song. The star studded lineup includes Pakistani singer Haroon (ex-Awaz band), social activist and artist Muniba Mazari, classical singer Javed Bashir and rubab virtuoso Farhan Bogra (Khumariyaan)
The music video seeks to inspire the youth by highlighting and paying tribute to Pakistani heroes and role models as well as stunning vistas of Pakistan.
Talking about the song further, Haroon said, “With this music video we aim to bring forth all the good that our country has to offer and we want to inspire and motivate the youth. I am incredibly honored to work with all the other artists in this song, without them this would not have been possible.”
The music video was shot in Islamabad and was directed by Shariq Khan. The video features Aakif Azeem who is a survivor of the Army Public School Peshawar in a lead role. The music video takes place at a festival where the artists are performing. Aakif brings along a hero box with a view finder and encourages the youth to look into the hero box and find inspiration by viewing various Pakistani role models, heroes and beautiful landscapes and monuments of Pakistan. The video also celebrates the diversity of the many faces of the people of Pakistan from various backgrounds.
Haroon
Ex lead singer of Awaz (Ay Jawan, Mr. Fraudiay) Haroon has had a successful solo career including hits such as Mahbooba, Dil Se, Yara, Mehndi Ki Khushboo, and others. He has sold millions of albums and has performed at large venues all over Pakistan and world wide. His music videos and live performances have always been considered ground breaking. He is also the creator and director of multi-award winning Burka Avenger animated TV series.
Javed Bashir
Javed is a giant talent and is considered one of the foremost eastern classical singers of South Asia. He is regularly featured on Coke Studio. He has also found huge success in Bollywood with his playback singing on songs for movies Cocktail, Bhaag Milka Bhaag, Kahani, Rush Bombay Talkies and many others.
Muniba Mazari
Muniba is a national ambassador for UN Women. She was one of two Pakistani women named in BBC’s 100 most inspirational women. She is an inspiration to millions of Pakistanis. She is a talented painter, TV host, social activist and singer. She is also a motivational speaker who is invited to speak regularly all over the word.
Farhan Bogra
Farhan is the lead member of Khumariyan which is a popular fusion instrumental group. He is one of the foremost Rubab players in Pakistan and mixes traditional eastern music with western sounds to create captivating songs.
