ISLAMABAD – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing has launched an investigation into a threatening post from the official social media account of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
According to media reports, a four-member team has been formed under the leadership of senior officers from the FIA Cyber Crime Wing in Islamabad.
The team has departed for Adiala Jail to question the PTI founder. The investigative and technical officers will conduct the inquiry there.
Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar commented that the FIA is investigating the threatening post made by the PTI founder. He stated that Imran Khan had posted anti-state content on social media, targeting the integrity of Pakistan.
Tarar further mentioned that the PTI founder had targeted the military and judiciary institutions. He noted that the FIA team has reached Adiala Jail and will question Khan about the origin and management of the account.
It is noteworthy that former Prime Minister Imran Khan is currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail.
