Killing of Mardan student: Imran Khan says law of jungle cannot prevail in KP

ISLAMABAD – Condemning killing of a student at a university in Mardan, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has said that the law of the jungle cannot prevail in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, a province ruled by the PTI.

On Thursday, a mass communication student named Mishal was lynched and then killed over alleged blasphemy following violent demonstrations inside Abdul Wali Khan University.

Hundreds of students staged protests in the wake of alleged blasphemy committed by Mishal. Initial reports reveal that at least five other students were injured in the clash and so far ten people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Imran Khan has tweeted stating,

The PTI chief stated that first action was necessary in the matter as law of the jungle cannot be allowed to rule over KP.

According to The Nation, this happens to be the first case where students have lynched and killed another student over blasphemy allegations.
