LONDON: Mahira Khan was awarded with the Contribution to Film and Activism Award yesterday at The UK Asian Film Festival in London which will be celebrating 20 years of supporting independent South Asian cinema.
The event which will proceed till the 25th of March will host 12 days of screenings and events in London, Edinburgh, Manchester and Leicester.

Dressed in a beautiful Elan sari, the actress expressed her profound gratitude at receiving this honor which she dedicated to her son, Azlan;
“Thank you. I’m going to keep it short,” she said, “Like you said, if my son is being overlooked (because of my work)? I always ask my son about what should I say? Should I thank you? And he would always respond, ‘Please don’t thank me.’ So, I hope someone is recording this!”
