MULTAN – England scored 239 runs for the loss of 6 wickets by the end of the second day of the second Test match against Pakistan, needing 127 more runs to overcome the host team’s lead.

In the match being played at Multan Cricket Stadium, England’s openers started aggressively against Pakistan. However, Zak Crawley was dismissed after scoring 27 runs with the team’s total at 73, and Ollie Pope was out after making 29 runs. Joe Root scored 34, Ben Duckett 114, and Harry Brook was dismissed for a duck.

By the end of the second day’s play, England had reached 239 runs for two wickets. Jamie Smith (12) and Brydon Carse (2) remained at the crease and will resume batting tomorrow.

For Pakistan, spinner Sajid Khan took 4 wickets, while Nauman Ali claimed 2.

Earlier, Pakistan’s first innings ended with 366 runs. The national team resumed their incomplete innings at 259 for 5, but wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan was dismissed for 41 after adding just 5 runs. Agha Salman scored 31, and Sajid Khan contributed only 2 runs.

Amir Jamal and Nauman Ali added a 49-run partnership for the ninth wicket, but Amir was out after scoring 37. Later, Nauman Ali was dismissed for 32 by Jack Leach.

For England, Jack Leach took 4 wickets, Brydon Carse claimed 3, Matthew Potts picked 2, and Shoaib Bashir took 1 wicket.
