LAHORE – The Punjab government has imposed Section 144 across the province.
The Punjab Home Department has issued a notification for the enforcement of Section 144 throughout the province.
According to the notification, Section 144 will be in effect from Friday, October 18, to Saturday, October 19. During this period, all forms of protests, rallies, and related activities will be banned across Punjab.
A spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department stated that the decision to enforce Section 144 was made to maintain peace and order and to protect human lives and property. Given security threats, any public rally could become a soft target for terrorists.
