ISLAMABAD —Muslims across Pakistan and around the world are celebrating Eid Miladun-Nabi (SAW) with fervor and traditional zeal today.
The blissful day started with 31-gun salute in the federal capital and a 21-gun salute in provincial capitals to honor the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Festivities saw streets, roads, markets, and buildings across the country illuminated with vibrant decorations. State and religious organizations have organized a range of activities, including processions, seminars, and conferences, to commemorate the event.
To ensure safety and order, extensive security measures have been implemented. In Punjab, more than 55,000 police officers will oversee 2,467 processions and 1,581 gatherings. Counter-Terrorism Department will support these efforts with surveillance and monitoring, particularly in sensitive areas.
Islamabad will deploy over 2,000 police officers for the main procession and other related events. Security will include walk-through gates, full-body searches, and snipers positioned on rooftops. Several roads along the procession route will be closed to manage the large crowds.
In Rawalpindi, over 5,000 police officers and 454 traffic officers will be on duty to manage 108 processions, with a special traffic plan in place to accommodate the celebrations.
Sindh has imposed a ban on pillion riding to enhance security. Karachi will see two major processions with 4,716 personnel deployed, including senior officers, constables, and female officers. Restrictions on weapons, vehicles, and participation of women and children in the processions will also be enforced.
The comprehensive security arrangements and festive decorations reflect the significance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, as Pakistan celebrates this important occasion with reverence and joy.
