Plan for voting right to overseas Pakistanis not dropped

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report)- Election Commission has dispelled the impression that it was backtracking from its plan to give right of vote to Overseas Pakistanis.

In a statement, the Commission says it has already constituted a high-level Committee on the matter.

The Committee has studied and examined the feasibility of different options for facilitating voting by the Overseas Pakistanis through Postal Ballot, Internet Voting and In-person Voting.

The Committee has so far conducted sixteen meetings and discussed all the legal and technical issues and provisions about various possibilities of providing the voting right to overseas Pakistan. Its recommendations are under consideration.
