NEW DELHI – After the waves the Harvey Weinstein’s case made in Hollywood and across the globe, many Bollywood actors have too been vocal about sexual misconduct/ harassment at work place. The prominent names include Kangana Ranaut, Akshay Kumar, Farhan Akhtar Richa Chadha, Neha Dhupia, and many others.
recently, while talking to a tabloid, King of Bollwood Shah Rukh Khan also expressed his views on the matter. Shah Rukh said, “We should not just let it be about ‘Oh this man behaved like this’ and ‘This is so shocking’ or all of that. We should respect the emotion of the women taking such a strong step in coming out, and being so brave, and help stop this from happening in our individual industries. The sad part of it is that you don’t know if it could be happening right under your nose.”
The actor lauded the courage of women at Farhan Akhtar’s event MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination), thus calling them superior to men: “I believe that women are superior to men in many levels and I am not ashamed of the fact that I am a little shy and scared of women whether she is my mother, wife, sister or friends. Women bring a quietude, a calm energy to the universe. So, any form of violence happening to any woman is the horrible thing can happen.”
