Sindh abolishes age relaxation for government jobs

KARACHI – The Sindh government has announced revoking the of age relaxation for jobs, a move that would jolt the candidates who are overage for the government employment.

A notification has been issued by the Sindh government stating that age relaxation in government jobs will end in January 2025.

According to the notification, the age limit for recruitment in Sindh government’s departments is generally between 18 and 28 years.

However, the provincial government has been granting a relaxation of 15 years, allowing individuals up to 43 years of age to apply for jobs.

Now, this relaxation will be abolished starting January 1, 2025.

In 2018, the provincial government approved age relaxation up to 15 years for government jobs in the province.

The notification in this regard had also been issued by chief secretary Sindh stating the government of Sindh had allowed relaxation upto maximum of fifteen years in the upper age limit to all the applicants applying for the vacancies Sindh government departments.
