LAHORE – Colleen Crenwelge has assumed her position as the United States Consul General in Lahore.
She succeeds Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau, whose next diplomatic assignment is as US Consul General in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in the United Kingdom.
A career member of the US Foreign Service, Colleen Crenwelge most recently served as the Deputy Public Affairs officer at the US Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, where she served previously as the Deputy Chief of Staff.

Crenwelge’s other diplomatic postings include assignments as the Political Chief at the U.S. Embassies in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and Baku, Azerbaijan, as well as tours at the U.S. Mission to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the U.S. Embassies in La Paz, Bolivia, and Lagos, Nigeria. In Washington, she served as a watch officer at the State Department’s Operations Center.
A Texas native, Crenwelge has a Bachelor of Arts in economics and political science from Texas A&M University. She joined the Foreign Service in 2003 and speaks Spanish and Russian.
