SEOUL – A week ahead of launching its flagship Galaxy S9, the South-Korean tech giant has unveiled the new ringtone for the new smartphone.
Over the Horizon, the default ringtone of Galaxy devices since 2011, is undoubtedly one of the most recognisable ringtones.
Each year, with each new generation of Galaxy devices, the ringtone is rearranged to mirror the aesthetic transformation of the devices themselves. For 2018, Samsung reached out to Icelandic composer Pétur Jónsson to reimagine the melody.

The video that Samsung has released today pairs the soft melody with sweeping shots of misty mountains, snow-blanketed hills and jagged cliffs that capture the beauty of Nordic nature.
Samsung says the new brand sound will have the power to relax the mind and heal the soul.
Over the Horizon 2018 will debut with the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ that are due to be unveiled on February 25 in Barcelona.
The Galaxy S9 will follow Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note8 in the implementation of Samsung’s Infinity Display with bezel-less sides.
