Shahid Afridi Foundation to help Mansoor Ahmed in his time of need

On Monday, Shahid Afridi made the promise that his foundation would bear all expenses of the treatment that former Hockey player, Mansoor Ahmed requires. Mansoor Ahmed who is a former Pakistani hockey team captain and goalkeeper in the 1994 hockey world cup was recently diagnosed with a serious heart ailment.

Afridi called Ahmed a national hero and said SAF would not abandon him in his time of need.

The Olympic bronze medalist was admitted to the ICU for eighteen days as his organs are gradually failing and his heart is only working at 20% capacity. The Pakistani Hockey Federation has already paid rupees 1 million for Ahmed’s medical bills.

His doctors have advised him to seek medical attention abroad and the veteran player has had no option but to ask the government to fund his medical expenses;
