In a rather unusual case, a woman from Uttar Pradesh has filed for divorce, citing her husband’s lack of basic hygiene as the primary reason. The incident took place in Agra, where the woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, sought legal separation just 40 days after marriage.
According to reports, the woman found it intolerable to live with a husband who neglected basic cleanliness and did not bathe regularly, leading to a persistent unpleasant odor.
The woman even approached a family counseling center to address her concerns. During the inquiry conducted by authorities, her husband admitted that he typically bathed only once or twice a month. He also revealed that, on occasion, he performed a ritual bath in the sacred Ganges River, claiming that he took a dip once a week.
The case has garnered attention for its unusual grounds for divorce, shedding light on the importance of personal hygiene in maintaining marital harmony.
