LAHORE – Zain Ali, who participated in Indian reality TV show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’, in 2012, found dead at a friend’s house in Punjab’s Sheikhupura city on Friday.
The Lahore-based-singer had left home on Thursday night to visit friends in Sheikhupura. “Zain told us that he was going to hang out with his friends for a few days but we woke up to the news of his death,” the musician’s brother Sonu Ali told Express Tribune. Sonu also shared that the singer was a drug addict but he wouldn’t have “crossed the limits”.
The deceased’s friends told that he went to the restroom and didn’t come out for a while. They then found him unconscious on the floor. Medical investigation is still under process to know the actual cause of the death.
He shot to fame after he participated in ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ and was appreciated by people in both India and Pakistan.
The 28-year-old singer was unmarried and had no love affairs or financial troubles that his family was aware of. In fact, he was about to make a new song for an upcoming film soon and was very excited about it, Sonu Ali was quoted as saying in the report.
The singer’s brother also suggested that Zain could have died due to a brain haemorrhage. However, nothing is confirmed as yet and the family is awaiting the final medical report.
