RAJANPUR – Prime Minister Imran Khan asserted on Friday that his government was committed to ensuring accountability across the board without showing any leniency.
Addressing the distribution ceremony of Sehat Insaf Cards in Rajanpur, the premier said if a corrupt individual is arrested, some elements start making a hue and cry and equate this action with an anti-democratic move.
Regarding health care, the Prime Minister said that it was an irony that the rulers spent public funds for their personal benefits.
‘Shehbaz Sharif ruled Punjab for 10 years, but he failed to establish any quality hospital where rulers and other influentials get treated,’ he alleged.
The Prime Minister distributed health cards among some of the deserving families of district Rajanpur and said the area is the most backward area of Pakistan. He said under the Sehat Insaf Card, a family can get medical treatment up to 7,20,000 rupees.

‘I will try his best to make Pakistan a welfare state by upholding principles of justice and humanity laid down by the State of Madina,’ he reiterated.
The premier also mentioned former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in his speech and claimed that his treatment costs Rs280 million to the nation.
The PM said government hospitals used to provide better healthcare but the politicians prefer to have their treatment abroad.
“I was born in a government hospital. In the past, these hospitals used to provide standard healthcare,” he regretted.
The prime minister said he has envisioned a Pakistan where the poor and the highest officials will get the same type of medical treatment at government hospitals.
He directed Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid to expedite reforms in government hospitals in the province to improve health facilities. PM Khan said this campaign will be further expanded to other parts of Punjab.
Yasmin Rashid earlier detailed that at least 7.2 million residents of the 36 districts of Punjab will get health cards by the end of 2019.
