If anyone should receive a light beating it should be Qandeel Baloch

The internet sensation recently came up with a video where she is seen with Mufti Abdul Qavi in his hotel room. Mufti Abdul Qavi who states that marriage is just a union of two people and whatever is decided in a room between any guy and girl is what should be taken as the contract or Nikkah.

Ignoring what was mutually decided between Qandeel and Qari or Qari and Qandeel in the quite bright hotel room, I’d just like to point my finger to one fact, in a country where people make a hue and cry about how women are not empowered and stuff, here have a look at this specimen.

Who is Qandeel Baloch? What has she done? What are her contributions to the society? Why the hell is she famous anyway? Can she spend 4 hours without posting garbage on social media? Yet she is celebrated and given so much air time on our media for no apparent reason at all.

Qandeel seems to be someone who missed those two slaps which were delivered to almost all of us at a young age by our parents. Some of us were lucky that they were not hit but penalized via other mediums i.e. grounding, confiscation of phone laptop etc, however, the concept holds. We should all receive some sort of “light beating” to stop us from turning into something like Qandeel Baloch.

For those whose feelings are hurt by hearing the word ‘slap’ please stop here.

Keeping in mind the future of our nation and of all those little kids with smart phones in hand depends on how we, as a nation, treat people like Qandeel Baloch in our midst.

On this father day I request Qandeels father to do what should have been done years ago: Give her a much needed slap and take away that phone, its not for me haan I like qandeel but when it comes to a whole nations emotions and feelings this intervention surely is warranted.

I urge Qandeels dad to use the allowed light beating clause fairly to the advantage of this whole nation. The ‘light beating’ should be followed by ‘grounding’ and not allowing qandeel to post on social media for two full days, something that would be considered sinful otherwise.

In light of muftis love for Qandeel, he made many sacrifices including his religion because he was there to make an offer that Qandeel could not refuse, but the real situation turned out to be contrary to the whole game. Mufti sahib had sips out of whatever Qandeel had, he told Qandeel that in her ‘love’ he has not fasted.
