Portuguese football superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has broken yet another record, as he has become the first person ever to set a record with 500 million followers on Instagram.
The wantaway Manchester United star made headlines last week with his interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV.
Ronaldo posted a Louis Vuitton ad featuring himself and fellow football player, Lionel Messi.
The only account with more followers is Instagram’s official page, a spokesperson for the social media website confirmed.
Argentina’s football player Lionel Messi is the second-most-popular celebrity with 376 million followers, according to his account’s statistics. He’s closely followed by Kylie Jenner, with 372 million. Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and records walk hand-in-hand. Ronaldo also has more than 105 million followers on Twitter.
On the professional front, The 37-year-old Portuguese football star was suspended for the Premier League club’s 1-1 draw at Chelsea after refusing to come on as a substitute against Tottenham last month.
