Ishaq Dar directs FBR, SBP to take action against persons, companies named in Bahama Leaks

ISLAMABAD – The Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has directed Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and SECP to take action as per law against the individuals and companies appeared in a section of media in connection with Bahama Leaks.

The finance minister has given these instructions during a meeting with Revenue and FBR team on Thursday soon after the International consortium of Investigation Journalism (ICIJ) released its new investigation like Panama leaks.

According to a statement issued by Ministry of Finance, Finance Minister has given directions to investigate and take action as per the due process of law against the individuals and companies named by a section of media in the Bahama Leaks.

Furthermore, the same instructions have been issued to SECP and State Bank of Pakistan by the Finance Minister.

The Minister said that no discrimination against anyone should be made and the probe be started immediately keeping in view all the legal formalities

It is pertinent to mention here that ICIJ disclosed a list of 444 Pakistani who have off-shore companies in Panama and other places.

On September 21 this investigation forum also released new investigation regarding the Bahama Leaks in which 150 Pakistanis including politicians and another segment of society were included.-Online
