Operation Khyber-IV: Forces take control of two strongholds of terrorists in Rajgal valley

RAWALPINDI – In a major breakthrough in tackling terrorism, security forces have cleared two strongholds of terrorists in Rajgal valley in Khyber Agency, ISPR reported.

In an action carried out under recently launched operation Khyber IV, the force secured Spinkai top dominating Saprai pass and Star Kille.

“Two major passes entering from Afghanistan inside Pakistan have been secured and effectively being dominated by Pakistan Army”.

IGFC KP North Major General Shaheen said that terrorists’ hideouts were being targeted by Artillery and army aviation, adding that operation was progressing as planned while terrorists are on the run.

On July 22, the army marked a major achievement under ongoing Operation Khyber 4 by clearing a crucial highest mountain top Brekh Muhammad Kandao near Pak-Afghan border, ISPR reported.

According to military media wing, several terrorists were killed, while some managed to escape to Afghanistan during late night operation. In the joint operation by SSC commandoes and troops, terrorists’ hideouts were cleared, besides seizing caches of IEDs, arms and ammunition.

“The forces have established posts at over 12000-feet altitude – the terrain is riddled with thick forestation,” the ISPR statement said.

This mountain top was being used as the main observation point and its base as transit/storage point. On July 16, Pakistan Army announced to launch Operation Khyber-4 under Radd-ul-Fasaad to “wipe out terrorists” in the Rajgal Valley area of Khyber Agency.
