B-town’s renowned singer Abhijeet’s account micro-blogging site Twitter has been suspended because of posting a series of ‘offensive tweets’.
He reportedly abused some women Twitter users, including Jawaharlal Nehru University student activist Shehla Rashid, by tweeting “There is rumor she took money for two hours and didn’t satisfy the client… Big racket,”
After the singer’s account was suspended by Twitter, Shehla Rashid thanked everyone.
Sincere thanks to everyone for the support. Abhijit had to delete his tweet.
His Twitter account has also been suspended. 🙂— Shehla Rashid (@Shehla_Rashid) May 23, 2017
He said to the Press Trust of India, “Yes, I just saw it. They are trying to block Paresh Rawal also. All Arundhati and JNU group behind this after Paresh Rawal and I tweeted against Arundhati for her anti-India stand,”
And, as he was questioned on whether if he would try to get his Twitter account back, Abhijeet told, “I (don’t) care a damn… entire nation is with me.”
However, #IStandWithAbhijeet is trending on Twitter after several Twitter users extended their support for him.
