Meet Pakistani porn-star Nadia Ali who still claims to be 'a practicing Muslim'

"I have been told by my family that I am not a Muslim anymore for being in adult film industry but I am a  Muslim and I pray two times a day which makes me a follower of Islam," said the Pakistani-American porn-star Nadia Ali, who is often featured as wearing Hijab in XXX rated films.

According to basic teachings of Islam, the second largest religion on earth, a woman cannot appear in public without wearing clothes which completely cover her body except hands and face. Muslim men and women are also barred from sexual intercourse without marriage and there is a punishment for anyone who violates the rule.

Muslim women use a traditional veil or Hijab, a piece of cloth, to cover their head and face for public appearance and however the 24-year-old porn star insists that wearing Hijab and doing porn simultaneously is just a taboo while arguing that "one can be a practicing Muslim and a porn star at the same time."

When The Daily Beast asked about real reason behind wearing Hijab in porn films, she said that few people think I do so to earn popularity but I promote the culture of a region that I come from.

Responding to a question about her family's reaction towards her decision to join porn film industry, Nadia Ali said "I am not welcome back home in Pakistan and none in my family is okay with my work."

Further telling about her family she said that she has a sister who also wears Hijab and is a mother while her own mother is a woman which offers prayer five times a day.

She also claimed of receiving death threats from region of her origin like fellow adult film actress Mia Khalifa, who hails from Lebanon, but added that she tries to respond to such messages politely.

It is also relevant to be mentioned here that porn films are completely banned and any involvement in the business is punishable in Pakistan. The government of Pakistan recently ordered the telecommunication authorities to take down over 94,000 websites which carried porn content.
